Accommodation in Auckland
Students have options with regards to the type of accommodation they choose, including home stay, flatting, boarding establishment, private board, motel or hotels, or even your own house. Most students prefer to start off in home stay accommodation and once they are familiar with living in Auckland they prefer to go flatting. Flatting is where you share a house with other people who could also be students like yourself. Flatting is very common in New Zealand.
Home Stay Accommodation
Home stay accommodation is a great way to learn about New Zealand culture. New Zealand host families are carefully chosen for you to stay with. Your family will provide you with a single bedroom, two meals per day during the week (three per day at the weekend) and clean bed linen and towels at least once a week.
Ask as many questions as you like to your home stay family host. It is great for your English conversation skills to talk to them as much as possible. If you have difficulty understanding what they say, ask them to speak slowly and explain any words you have difficulty with.
Students need to inform ITTI at the time of paying their fees if they want the Institute to arrange the home stay accommodation.
