Aim of the Course

Students will develop and consolidate basic knowledge and skills in desktop publishing and web design. Learn how to use and operate the basics of Adobe Photoshop. Students will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the Apple operating environment, using E-mac computers. In addition, basic computer and business skills will be learned.

Course Content

• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of computer networks
• Produce desktop published documents for organisational use
• Create a website for organisational use
• Produce a presentation using a desktop presentation computer application
• Create and operate an interactive website to provide a solution for an organisation
• Apply Internet knowledge and skills in an organisational context

Outcome

The award of an ITTI Certificate in Desktop Publishing and Web Design (Level 3) indicates that the holder has:

1. Knowledge and skills of desktop publishing, creating a website and operating a computer
2. Potential to undertake higher studies at Level 4 or above
3. A vocational qualification to enter employment and continue study on a part time basis

Duration

14 weeks full time:
Monday - Friday 9:00 am – 3.00 pm

Entry Requirements

• Students must be at least 18 years old and have completed their high school studies.
• Some prior computer knowledge or experience is an advantage, though those with no prior experience may be admitted as ITTI provides additional support and Professional Development classes to provide the best possible outcome to your educational experience.

• National Certificate in Computing Level 3
• IT Training Institute Certificate in Web Design Level 3
• IT Training Institute Certificate in Desktop Publishing Level 3

Employment Opportunities

Graduates will find opportunities in general office roles, advertising, marketing, desk-top publishing, graphic design, printing and may also become self-employed.
